This week’s really big Friday thank you goes to Deputy Head Teacher Steve Abey and his amazing supporters at Westwood Primary School in March, Cambridgeshire.

Although, due to lockdown, Steve was unable to take part in the London Marathon he had planned to run in aid of STARS, he has kindly donated the £383 raised so far to help STARS’ work with bereaved children and young people in Cambridgeshire.

Steve told us: “STARS is a great charity and young people will need you more than ever after all this settles down. I have not finished fundraising yet and intend to reboot it when we have a date that the Marathon can be run.”

Anne Streather at STARS charity said: “We understand that the children and young people we support are becoming more anxious at this time as they are away from friends, school and their wider family. We are also aware they may not have been able to be with members of their family whom they’ve lost at this time – therefore, this donation is even more greatly appreciated – thank you.”
