Celebrating its 50th anniversary, Thriplow Daffodil Festival 2018 was hailed as the coldest yet, however, this much-loved Cambridgeshire community event successfully raised several thousand pounds for Stars. Despite inclement weather, the Thriplow spirit endured and crowds gathered from far and wide to enjoy a weekend run entirely by volunteers. Over two days, visitors roamed the car-free village to see daffodil displays, visit attractions, view open gardens, and potter among the stalls – enjoying homemade tea room delights and delicious hot street food at The Taste of Thriplow, while listening to great live music. A spokesperson for the event said: “Stars, our nominated charity, were amazed at the unique warmth and friendliness that purveys throughout Daffodil Weekend, of which we are very proud.” Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone at the Thriplow Daffodil Weekend; these funds will help provide specialist bereavement support and counselling for children in our region who are coping with the loss of someone significant in their lives. The 2019 Thriplow Daffodil Weekend is set to take place on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 March 2019 – and they’ve planted 15 new heritage varieties for next year’s display!
