We are thrilled to announce that Stars has been awarded ‘Community Group of the Year’ at the Cambridge News Community & Education Awards 2019.

The awards, presented at Wolfson College in Cambridge, aim to recognise exceptional individuals or groups who go the extra mile to help others. Nominations in the 14 categories include those who have shown courage in the face of adversity to community groups that have helped to improve people’s lives. Stars share this honour with two other worthy entrants and collected £500 prize money to help provide further child bereavement support.

Anne Streather and the dedicated Stars team richly deserve this accolade as recognition of their hard work and of the important role our service plays in the community,” said Chair of Stars, David Culley. “Heartfelt thanks to everyone involved and to those who nominated Stars for young people in Cambridgeshire facing grief and dealing with loss.”
