Saturday 23rd September saw a number of families with young people, helped by STARS, get together for a volunteer-led family day. The families were given opportunities to form new relationships with others who had been through similar experiences, take part in creative activities, participate in a mass balloon release, and more. See the pictures for an idea of what happened.
An intrepid group of walkers from recruitment company Pure braved the conditions to walk from Cambridge to Ely on Sunday 5th November 2017. Their ‘Team STARS’ which included furry friends, Neo, Maisie and Hector, raised £168 to help local bereaved children – thank you!
Next for the team is the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge in May, we will post details of their fundraising page here in case you want to show your support.
After successfully participating in a local charity golf tournament, captain of the winning team David Atkin chose STARS as his team’s choice to receive half of the amount raised. David, pictured right, presented the cheque to STARS Chair of Trustees David Culley (left). David Atkin chose STARS for the unique work we do to help Cambridgeshire children and families struggling with a bereavement.
Professional recruitment specialists Pure have put together a 12 strong team to complete the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on 12th May 2018, all to help local children struggling with the loss of someone close.
